Seymour Tribune Helen Louise (Zike) Peppers Helen Louise (Zike) Peppers, 85, Seymour, formerly of Vallonia, died at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009, at Schneck Medical Center. She had been ill three years. Mrs. Pepper was a member of Vallonia Christian Church and was a retired school cook. She loved to play bingo and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Jackson County, the daughter of Glenn and Pearl Montel Zike. Both are deceased. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She married Charles Peppers on April 17, 1943, in Jeffersonville. He preceded her in death July 20, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Marshall) Burbrink of Seymour; a sister, Doris Wheeler of Vallonia; grandchildren, Charles (Amanda Cunningham) Lowery, Mark (Juli) Edwards, Brad (Billie) Edwards, David Burbrink, Mika (Ryan) Ahlbrand and Joshua Burbrink; and great-grandchildren, Jenna and Trent Lowery, Ken and Ellen Archer, Kieffer Cowles and Mackenzie Edwards. The Rev. Chris Criminger will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will be at Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
