Seymour Daily Tribune Walter Pfaffenberger Sept. 29, 1922 – June 5, 2006 Walter Pfaffenberger, 83, died at 8 p.m. June 5, 2006. He had just finished his cruise around his farm (Golden Harvest Farm) with his dog Oliver. They both enjoyed their daily six-mile walk and hike around the farm and through the woods. He was a retired farmer and owner of Golden Harvest Farm which dates back to 1870 and five generations. He was a 1940 graduate of Scottsburg High School and a 1944 graduate of Indiana Tech, where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a lifelong member of Scottsburg Christian Church, a Gideon for more than 10 years and enjoyed selling daffodils for the American Cancer Society. Born on September 29, 1922 in Scottsburg, he was the son of Walter Adam and Eva Leigh (Hostettler), both of whom preceded him in death. He married his wife Ada of 36 years in Germany in 1969, and she survives in Scottsburg. Survivors include three children, Jennifer and Karen Pfaffenberger, both of Indianapolis, and Philip (Laura) Pfaffenberger of Corydon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Leigh Faris. A private burial was held at Estil Cemetery near his farm, fulfilling Walter’s wishes. Memorial gifts may be given to New Life International, Inc., 6764 S.
