Seymour Tribune - November 9, 2009 Alice Sue (White) Phillips 1944 - 2009 Alice Sue Phillips, 65, North Vernon, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker. She was a member of AMVETS Post 7 in North Vernon and attended First Baptist Church in North Vernon. She attended Bartholomew County Schools. Her hobbies included bingo, playing cards and fishing. Born Feb. 20, 1944, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Pete and Nettie Lucas White, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 28, 1962, in North Vernon, she married Charles Phillips, who preceded her in death March 16, 1985. Survivors include three sons, Charles Graham, Mobile, Ala., and Donald Phillips and Jonathan (Stephanie) Phillips, both of North Vernon; two daughters, Shirley (Jimmy) Smith, Grand Bay, Ala., and Sarah (Tony) Luedeman, North Vernon; one brother, Densen White, Indiana; one sister, Martha (Roger) Townsend, Columbus; and six grandchildren, Joey and Elbie Smith, Grand Bay, Ala., Crystal Gail and Azalia Melissa Graham, Hope, and Alisha and Adam McElroy, North Vernon. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Molly Mullis and Florence Fields, and four brothers, James, Melvin, Dale and George White. The Rev. Bob Weeks will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, North Vernon. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
