Seymour Tribune - September 9, 2009 Johnny Lee Phillips 1949 - 2009 Johnny Lee "John" Phillips, 60, Seymour, passed away at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mr. Phillips was a carpenter for Abraham and Sons Contractors. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved his family and was a very loving "papaw." Born March 13, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of John W. and Kathryn L. Barnes Phillips, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 15, 1968, in Seymour, he married Diana Acton Phillips, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Carrie (James) Baurle and Trevor (Heather) Phillips; grandchildren, Kaley Phillips, Sean Baurle, Trista Phillips and Bridget Phillips; sisters, Polly (Michael) Hook and Sue Ann Cody; brother, William "Bill" (Elma) Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation rights have been accorded to Mr. Phillips' request through Voss and Sons Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory, Seymour.
