Seymour Daily Tribune April 13, 2002 Christine Pickett Christine Pickett, 60, North Vernon, died at 4:11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2002, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, North Vernon, following an extended illness. Mrs. Pickett retired after 16 years as a laundry employee with National Linen and also worked at the Dairy Queen. She was a member of Scipio Baptist Church, Scipio. Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Greensburg, Ky., she was a daughter of Lucalon Acree and Lula Richard Acree, who both preceded her in death. On June 19, 1962, in Salina, Tenn., she married Hershell Pickett and he survives. She also is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Derrick, Goodspring, Tenn.; a stepson, Roger Pickett, Tennessee; two brothers, Paul Acree, North Vernon, and David Acree, Forest Hill, Texas; two sisters, Rosie Mae Pruitt, Columbia, Ky., and Naomi Leavelle, Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded by two brothers, Frank Acree and George Acree; a stepson, Michael Pickett; and a sister, Katherine Kemp. The Rev. Steve Pumphrey will conduct funeral services at Scipio Baptist Church. Burial will be at Scipio Cemetery, Highway 7, Scipio. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
