Seymour Tribune -February 12, 2008 Phyllis Lovenia (Browning) Ping 1928 - 2008 Phyllis Lovenia Ping, 79, Brown County, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus. Mrs. Ping worked at Van Buren Elementary School as secretary from 1963 to 1997. She was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene, attended Freetown and Christianburg United Methodist churches, and was a member of the Indiana Dancer Association and Bucks and Does Square Dance Club. Born Aug. 19, 1928, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Leonard J. Browning and Edith Mae Lewis Browning, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Lana (Ernie) Dickmeyer, Brown County; a son, Gary (Kathleen) Ping, Bedford; a sister, Sharon Waggoner, Freetown; a brother, Jim Browning, Brownstown; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Ping; a granddaughter, and an infant brother, Jackie Browning. Funeral services were held Jan. 30, at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville. Burial took place at Christianburg Cemetery.
