Seymour Daily Tribune February 11, 2002 Valentine Quillen Jr. Valentine Quillen Jr., 75, Alexandria, La., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Summit Nursing Home, Alexandria. Mr. Quillen was an ordained minister and member of Alexandria Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Born Dec. 14, 1926, in Columbus, he was a son of Valentine Quillen Sr. and Lilly May Rager. He married Betty Faye Montgomery, who survives in Alexandria, La. Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah Ann Quillen, Alexandria, La.; a son, Donald Dean Quillen Sr., North Vernon; two sisters, Ellen Lenora Bowman, Jonesville, and Linda Lou Wright, Florida; four brothers, Paul Howard Quillen and Ronald Leroy Quillen, both of Warsaw, William Richard Quillen, Seymour, and Harry Edward Quillen Sr., Tennessee; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Kay Quillen; two sisters, Mary Margaret Quillen and Evelyn Lorraine Abel; and a brother, Jack Clifford Quillen. The Rev. Greg Morrell will conduct services at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Alexandria Christian Church. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at John Kramer & Son Funeral Home, Alexandria.
