Seymour Daily Tribune Elleanora Ramey August 23, 2006 Elleanora "Lonnie" Ramey, 73, Scipio, died at 7:51 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Ramey worked at Jenn Acres and the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. She was a member of Scipio United Methodist Church and had lived in Jennings County all her life. Born Nov. 4, 1932, in Hartsville, she was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Trotter Scroghines, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include five children, Sandra and Barry Vance, Tammy and Rick Creech, Randy and Nancy Ramey, all of North Vernon, Peggy Paswater, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Benjamin Ramey, Carlisle; one brother, George Scrogins, Florida; one sister, Glenna Scroghines Rodriguez, Tucson, Ariz., and her former husband, Dennis Ramey; 11 grandchildren, Vanessa Vance Green, Trevor and Trent Vance, Patton Hall, Josh, Jennifer and Jessica Creech, Tatum, Myles, Thomas and Rheann Ramey; five great-grandchildren, Merrick Vance Green, Zac Vance Green, LeAndra Vance Green, Christopher Hall and Isaac Vance. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Tracy Lee Ison; a great-grandchild, Jordyn Vance; seven brothers and sisters, Mac Chappellow, Raymond Scroghines, Doris Short, Opal Weber, Carmettia Huff, Glen and Jack Scroghines. The Rev. Bill Ramey will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vance-Fisher-Sawyer Funeral Chapel, North Vernon. Burial will take place at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Scipio United Methodist Church Preschool or Hospice of Jennings County.
