Seymour Daily Tribune March 21, 2002 Edith Gertrude Reedy Edith Gertrude Reedy, 92, of Brownstown and formerly of Ratcliff Grove, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, after having been ill for four years. Mrs. Reedy was a member of Ratcliff Grove Christian Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and had been active with Bible school for many years. She had belonged to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and was still a member of the Willing Workers of that church. She was a 50-year member of the ABC Home Economics Club and was a member of Jackson County Craft Club and Brownstown Township Farm Bureau. Born Nov. 25, 1909, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of Cecil and Lena Dell Smallwood Scott. On March 1, 1927, in Brownstown, she married Ralph Raleigh Reedy, who died April 9, 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Inez (Ralph) Baughman, Medora; a son, Roy (Marilyn) Reedy, Freetown; five grandchildren, Curtis Baughman, Jane Martin, Sarah Wright, Susan Wynn and Joyce McKinney; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene “Gene” Scott, Brownstown; and a sister, Imogene Fosbrink, Seymour. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Edith Goodman and Anthony “Tony” Baughman; four brothers, James Scott, J.C. Scott, Jessie Scott and Jackie Scott; and a sister, Estella May Miller. Gary Morning and Kenneth Jurgens will conduct services at 2 p.m. Friday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will be in Smallwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Smallwood Cemetery or Ratcliff Grove Christian Church.
