Ira Rice Jr.

Ira Rice Jr., 64, Seymour, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Kindred Indy South, Greenwood.
Mr. Rice worked for Kentucky Power Co. and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Born Feb. 20, 1928, in Gays Creek, Ky., he was a son of Ira G. Rice and Esta Mae Smith Rice, who both preceded him in death. On March 5, 1963, he married Mary Smith Rice and she survives in Seymour.
He is survived by a son, Donald Wayne Rice, Seymour; a daughter, Patsy Fields, Austin; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Rice and Bert Rice, both of Austin, and Elmer Rice, Scottsburg; and five sisters, Martha Begley and Faye Little, both of Dry Ridge, Ky., Katherine Caudill, Elyria, Ohio, Geneva Fugate, Falmouth, Ky., and Hazel Fugate, Austin.
He also was preceded by a brother, Jimmy Rice.
The Rev. Nicky Spicer will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin. Burial will be at Spurgeon Cemetery, Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
