Seymour Daily Tribune February 12, 2002 Dorothy C. Thompson Ricker Dorothy C. Thompson Ricker, 90, of Brentwood, N.H., and formerly of Portsmouth, N.H., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002. As a young woman, Mrs. Ricker helped her father after the death of her mother. She was a member of the Daughters of Pocahontas and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and gardening, jigsaw puzzles and animals, domestic and wild. Born Sept. 20, 1911, she was a daughter of John E. and Mary Chandler Thompson. On Sept. 22, 1934, she married George E. Ricker Sr., who preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Nathalie Ball, Newington, N.H., Marilyn Moffitt, Bennington, Vt., and Dorothy Reynolds and her husband, Donald, Seymour; 12 grandchildren, George W. Ricker, Cynthia Donnelly, Brian and Robert Klockars, Deanna Walsh, John, William and Dale Dyer, Donald, George and Edward Reynolds and Shelli Wohlheiter; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, Amayah; several nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a son, George E. Ricker Jr.; two sisters, Edna Wortman and Margaret Hanscom; five brothers, William, Harry, Ernest, John and Roger Thompson; and a great-grandson, Robert Dyer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth, N.H. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or donor’s choice of charities.
