Margaret F. Trapp Ritz, 79, Crothersville died at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Mrs. Ritz retired from the former H.O. Canfield in Seymour. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, and she loved children so much she was a volunteer at Crothersville Elementary School, where she was known as grandma, for the past five years. She also enjoyed flowers and was a magnet collector.
Born Dec. 7, 1927, she was the daughter of Fred and Verna Trapp, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Carl Ritz on Oct. 23, 1948, and he preceded her in death May 13, 1985.
Survivors include, a daughter, Sandra (Jesse) Law, Crothersville; four sisters, Fern Russel, Morgantown, Carol Clark, Seymour, Vivian (Chesley) Smith, Commiskey, and Phyllis (Gary) Burke, Seymour; a brother, Murrel Trapp, Seymour; six grandchildren, Ernest Jesse Law, Crothersville, Tom (Shannon) Law, Jaynesville, Wis., Janice (Chris) Rider, Seymour, Stephanie Ritz (fiancé Jason Teipen), Seymour, Christie Ritz, Seymour, and Shannon T. (Tina) Ritz, Seymour; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Thomas Ritz, on April 3, 2006; an infant sister, Fairy Trapp; and brothers, Ermil and Donald Trapp.
The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville. Burial will take place at Crothersville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Adams Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
