submitted by: Orville Paller Seymour Daily Tribune Helen M. Robertson Dec. 23, 1911 – June 4, 2006 Helen M. Robertson, 94, a woman of elegance and vivacity, died Sunday, June 4, 2006. For these last years, she endured debilitating health, although in possession of her mental acuity, until the last two years of her life. She was educated by the Ursuline Nuns (Louisville) at St. Ambrose Catholic School in Seymour. She graduated from Shields High School in 1928. She commenced her business career the same year with Central Pharmaceutical Corp. and was with them for 66 years, holding a variety of positions within the corporation and retiring from the board of directors. She served on the Schneck Medical Center Foundation as secretary for 41 years. She was a charter member of Tri Kappa Sorority, and a lifelong member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and Daughters of Isabella. She leaves a legacy to St. Ambrose School to be used to ensure the continuing quality of education that she enjoyed and appreciated. Born Dec. 23, 1911, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Lynn and Mary Berens Robertson, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include seven nephews, Lynn M. (Rebecca) Kelley, John B. (Sheila) Kelley, Patrick (Sally) Kelley, Paul Kelley, Timothy M. (Denise) Kelley, Mark (Diane) Kelley and James (Jane) Robertson; Mary G. Robertson; a host of great-nieces; extended family, Bill and Phyllis Hovden, Jane Herold, Robert and Judy Lewis, Laura Reinhart, Phyllis and Gary Burke, Carolyn Witherspoon and Robert and Carmen Toerne; and three “guardian angels,” Glenda Asher, Leah Hampton and Tracy Thompson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Robertson Kelley; two brothers, Robert and Don Robertson; a nephew, Patrick H. Kelley; and a lifetime companion and dear friend, Waldron Bruemmer. Father Todd Goodson and Father Joseph Sheets will conduct Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will take place at the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
