Seymour Daily Tribune Keith L. Rogers August 7, 2006 Keith L. Rogers, 81, North Vernon, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Rogers graduated from Shields High School in Seymour and went on to serve in the U.S. Army in World War II in Europe. He enjoyed Indiana basketball, driving trucks, working and traveling. He retired from Local 440 Union of Plumbers/Steamfitters out of Indianapolis and has also worked for Lee's Ready Mix as a bulk truck driver. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Seymour Elks Club. Born Nov. 11, 1924, in Paris Crossing, he was a son of Loren and Vininie Short Rogers, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Mary Eggersman, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Donna Spencer, Keystone, Colo., and Patricia Bentz, North Vernon; five sons, Larry Rogers, Seymour, Harry Elston, Carmel, Larry Elston, Cambridge, Ohio, Barry Elston, and Kevin Rogers, both of North Vernon; 17 grandchildren, Todd, James, David, Larry, Ben, Beau, Katie, Meredith, Lauren, and Leah Elston, Chaz, Chase, and Chelsie Bentz, Lisa and Lori Rogers, Jaya Spencer and Jaci Custer, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Rogers, and one brother, Lynn Rogers. Lt. Col. James J. Spencer will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pickett Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour with a military service. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association and the Arthritis Foundation.
