Seymour Tribune - August 27, 2007 Harold Richard Ruddick Harold Richard Ruddick, 84, Seymour, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mr. Ruddick was a member of Reddington Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Wamali class at church. He was a World War II Veteran serving in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He owned and operated the Golden Acre Greenery and also did various landscaping. He worked at Knights Inn, Best Western and for the Indiana State Highway Dept. Born in Redding Township, on Dec. 15, 1922, he was a son of Elmer and Elizabeth (Marsh) Ruddick, both of whom preceded him in death. On Jan. 19, 1944, he married Jessie Ann Banks in Seymour, who preceded him in death in May of 1999. Survivors include his daughters, Merylee Doyle and Lisa Meadors; sons, Harold Ruddick and George Ruddick; sisters, Ruth Sweany and Betty Mosher; a brother, George W. Ruddick; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother; a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Pastors Bill Weaver and Scott Brown will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, DAV #47, and the Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Reddington Cemetery, Reddington Christian Church or the Lutheran Community Home.
