Seymour Daily Tribune April 8, 2002 Doris A. Hoevener-Schooler Doris A. Hoevener-Schooler, 85, Seymour, died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mrs. Schooler was employed in the Bartho-lomew County Recorders Office and worked for several years at the Gold Mine store in Seymour. She retired in 1966. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a former member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Columbus, LWML, Northeast Mission Workers, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabastian, Fla. Born Sept. 4, 1916, in Seymour, she was a daughter of William F. Otting and Martha Rittman Otting. On Feb. 3, 1937, in Seymour, she married Henry F. Hoevener and he died Oct. 23, 1963. On Dec. 17, 1965, in Columbus, she married J.L. Schooler and he died March 30, 1996. She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Linda) Hoevener and Stephen (Janice) Hoevener, both of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Paul) Newkirk and Dena (Robert) Schafstall, both of Seymour; three stepsons, Quentin (Maryka) Schooler, Frankfort, Roger (Patsy) Schooler, Columbus, and Bernard Schooler, Tampa, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Carolyn (William) Shireman, Tampa, Fla., and Regina (Russell) Allman, Columbus; 29 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Arthur Otting; three sisters, Clara Claycamp, Leah Shoemaker and Esther Hackman; a stepson, Elbert Schooler; a grandson, Mark Newkirk; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Watkins. The Rev. Mark G. Press will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church.
