Mary Ellen Schreiber
Mary Ellen Schreiber, 108, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.
Mrs. Schreiber was a member of Vallonia United Methodist Church and Women's Missionary Society and was a retired housekeeper. She lived most of her life in Jackson County.
Born Aug. 23, 1898, in Loogootee, she was a daughter of William Edwards and Nancy Johnson Edwards, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 20, 1929, she married Lewis Crane, who died June 11, 1962. She then married William Schreiber, who died Jan. 21, 1967.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Edwards and Clyde Edwards, and two sisters, Lula May Nance and Savilla Woodmansee.
Hugh Reynolds will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
