Seymour Daily Tribune Charles E. Schroer October 17, 2006 Dec. 8, 1931-Oct. 15, 2006 Charles E. Schroer, 74, Columbus, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Schroer was a lifetime member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at White Creek. He was a product engineer, retiring from Cosco in 1997 after 42 years of service. Born Dec. 8, 1931, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Edward Schroer and Lorene Toburen Schroer, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 28, 1953, he married Vivian E. Pearson, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, William E. (Debra) Schroer, Columbus, and Robert E. (Karen) Schroer, Seymour; a sister, Elsie (Kenneth) Pollert, Vallonia; and six grandchildren, Leah (Harvey) London, Gaffney, S.C., Tiffany, Ericka and Jessica Schroer, all of Seymour, and Hannah and Zachary Schroer, both of Columbus. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Kelley and Florence Simmons. The Rev. Eldon Brandt will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, White Creek, with burial to take place at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Columbus, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
