Alice M. (Dietz) Schryer
1937 - 2008 
Alice M. Dietz Schryer, 70, Seymour, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Schryer was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Elizabethtown. She retired from Excello Shirt Factory, then worked in housekeeping at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. She was a member of Columbus Eastern Star. She had lived in Jackson County since 1942.
Born Oct. 12, 1937, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of Robert Dietz and Pauline Malson Dietz, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 14, 1964, she married Calvin Schryer, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2000.
Survivors include children, Sheryl Schryer Vance, North Vernon, Larry C. Schryer, Austin, Jack D. Schryer, Medora, Tony J. Schryer, Holton, Richard A. Schryer and Brian M. Schryer, both of Seymour, Tony A. Schryer, Reddington, and Alecia D. Schryer Franklin, Columbus; brothers, Bob Dietz, Columbus, Paul Dietz, Jonesville, and Joe Dietz, New Mexico; sisters, Sharon Price, Freetown, and Sandra Roark, Florida; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Earl and Max Dietz and two grandchildren.
Tracy McIntyre will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
