Seymour Daily Tribune March 12, 2002 Dorothy J. Settle Dorothy J. Settle, 79, Columbus, died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Settle was a homemaker and a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Columbus, where she was active in the Christian Fellowship Group. She was a former volunteer for the Columbus Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Born Nov. 6, 1922, in Seymour, she was a daughter of William Burl and Edith H. Ervin Sparks. On Nov. 23, 1940, in Louisville, she married C. Eugene Settle, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Susan Nolting and Sara J. Zeigler, both of Columbus; a son, Daniel E. Settle, Columbus; five grandchildren, Jennifer L. Baldwin, Michael A. Nolting and Julie Eudy, all of Columbus, Greg W. Nolting, Franklin, and Clarke Zeigler, Fishers; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert Sparks, and a sister, Louise Turpin. The Rev. Mark R. Teike will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given through the funeral home to the Together We Grow Fund at St. Peters Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Bartholomew County.
