Seymour Daily Tribune April 16, 2002 George Lee Shedelbower George Lee Shedelbower, 83, Olney, Ill., died at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2002, at his home. Mr. Shedelbower was a machinist and worked in the model shop for Roadmaster until his retirement. Before working for Roadmaster, he owned and operated the Sheldelbower Sawmill in Ste. Marie, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946. He was a 50-year member of American Legion Post 30 and the Oblong Rovers and Illinois Retirees camping clubs. His hobbies included woodworking, counted cross-stitch and camping. Born Oct. 24, 1918, in Jasper County, he was a son of George C. and Goldie Enlow Shedelbower. On Aug. 2, 1937, in Vincennes, he married Dorothy McCormack, who survives in Olney. Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (John) Sharp, Seymour, and Cathy (Steve) Stiff, Champaign, Ill.; six grandchildren, Connie Downey, Brocton, Ill., Lisa Hargett, Houston, Texas, Robert King, Seymour, Megan Vasin, Bloomington, and Melissa Stiff and Matthew Stiff, both of Champaign, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren, Tim Sharp and Tracy Wilson, both of Champaign, Ill., Tammy Sharp, Tolono, Ill., and Trudy Godsell, Philo, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. The Rev. Joe Eggebrecht will conduct funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney, Ill. Burial will be in Haven Hill Memorial Garden, Olney. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
