Seymour Daily Tribune January 9, 2002 Everett Shields Everett Shields, 99, Medora, died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Heritage House of Seymour. He had been ill for six weeks. He was a member of Medora Christian Church. He had worked as a logger and for the State Highway Department and Medora Brickyard. Born Dec. 21, 1902, in Medora, he was a son of William Shields and Jane Daulton Shields. On May 20, 1936, in Salem, he married Corene E. Hughes, who died Oct. 13, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Everett Ray Shields and Joe Steven Shields, both of Medora. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Clarence Shields, and a sister, Bertha Shields Atkins. Stan Thomas and Gary Morning will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. today at Medora Christian Church. Burial will be in White River Valley Cemetery, Medora. Visitation was conducted at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Memorials may be given to Medora Christian Church.
