Helen Marie Goen Sipes
Helen Marie Goen Sipes, 75, Medora, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Bedford Medical Center, Bedford.
Mrs. Sipes was a member of Medora Christian Church. She was employed at Medora Plastic Factory and RCA. She was a homemaker.
Born July 4, 1931, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Ernest M. Goen and Glenna Guthrie Goen Barrett, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 7, 1950, in Budha, she married Cyrus Everett Sipes, who preceded her in death in July 1997. They moved to Lawrence and Jackson counties 52 years ago.
Survivors include children, Terris Runae (Jack) Brown, Bedford, Sharon Rae (Robert) Nolan and Debra Sue (Dennis) Wayman, both of Medora; one brother, William Dean (Sherrie) Barrett, Bedford; grandchildren, Marie Dee (Bryan) Powell, Bobbie Sue (Chris) Snodgrass, Stacy Leigh Brown, Dennis Everett (Jamie) Wayman, and Deven Marie (Kevin) Shirley; great grandchildren, Mitchell Craig Reed, Michael Robert Powell, and Brooklyn Nicole Snodgrass.
She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Danielle Marie Reed.
The Rev. Stan Thomas, Rev. Clarence Brown and Rev. Danny Goen will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Medora Christian Church. Burial will take place at White River Valley Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Paralyzed Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
