Seymour Daily Tribune November 20, 2006 Ona Mae Moran Skaggs March 14, 1920 - Nov. 19, 2006 Ona Mae Moran Skaggs, 86, Brownstown, died at 9:45 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Skaggs was a devoted wife and mother and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown. Born in Russell County, Ky., on March 14, 1920, she was the daughter of George and Laura Miller Moran, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the loving wife of William Carl Skaggs. Mr. and Mrs. Skaggs were married on May 8, 1940, on the riverbank at Horseshoe Bottom, Jamestown, Ky. Survivors included three daughters: Shirley (Lester) Arthur, Sue (Kenny) Noble and Sheila (Michael) Lucas; six sons: Bill (Jeanie) Skaggs, Albert (Gayle) Skaggs, Glen (Randa) Skaggs, Terry Skaggs, Eddie (Carol) Skaggs and Michael (Lisa) Skaggs; a sister: Modene Hicks, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren who survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sons, Lester, Ronnie, Leonard and Joe David Skaggs; a grandson, Timothy Ray Skaggs; a great-grandson, Zachary Cassidy; six brothers, Carson Moran, twins Robert and William Moran, Arlie Moran, Arnold Moran and Ethan Moran; four sisters, Mamie Moran, Opal Moran, (her twin), and twins Lori and Lois Moran; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn A. Skaggs. Brother Charles Clark, Brother Ron Cox, Brother Glen Seaman, Brother Larry Arrowood, and Brother Neal McCory will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle, Seymour. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Apostolic Penecostal Tabernacle. Memorial may be given to First Pentecostal Church, Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle or donor's choice.
