Seymour Daily Tribune January 19, 2007 Edna Mae Smith Edna Mae Smith, 73, Seymour, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mrs. Smith was a member of Gorbett's Chapel Church, Freetown and was a homemaker. Born April 8, 1933, in Waynesburg, Ky., she was a daughter of Jim and Birdie Dowell Oaks, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 17, 1948, in Waynesburg, Ky., she married James Smith, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1990. Survivors include two sons, Lonnie J. (Kim) Smith, and Timmy L. (Roberta) Smith, both of Seymour; one sister, Lena Blanton, Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, William J. Smith, Shawnta Askins, Joseph D. Smith, Tonya M. Smith, Rachel A. Smith; two great-grandchildren, Braxton J. Smith and Payton O. Smith. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Smith and one sister, Helen Caudill. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery, Norman. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to donors choice.
