Seymour Daily Tribune February 19, 2002 Roger Spaulding Roger Spaulding, 79, Scottsburg, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his home. Mr. Spaulding was a retired U.S. Air Force pilot and a veteran of World War II. He was a farmer. He was a member of Mount Hebron Christian Church, life member of Scott County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6582, life member of the National Air Force Alde Society and member of the Retired Air Force Officers Association. Born Aug. 22, 1922, in Graham, Miss., he was a son of James Leroy Spaulding and Josephine B. Winslow. He lived in Little York most of his life. Survivors include four sons, John R. Spaulding Jr. D.D.S., Madison, Jeffrey A. Spaulding, Louisville, Steve E. Spaulding, Scottsburg, and Robert D. Spaulding, Milton, Fla.; two daughters, Karen V. Gonzalez, Melbourne, Fla., and Leah A. Bradley, Taegue, South Korea; two brothers, Junior “JR” Spaulding, West Baden Springs, and Everett Spaulding, Scottsburg; four sisters, Geneva Moody, Elgin, Ill., Gladys Horn, Salem, Anita Haven, Little York, and Colleen Baldwin, Scottsburg; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Brother Rodney Sweeney will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be in Mount Cemetery in Washington County. Military graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hoosier Upland Hospice in Mitchell in care of the funeral home.
