Seymour Daily Tribune Brenda Ann Spurgeon August 8, 2006 Brenda Ann Spurgeon, 47, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Spurgeon was a 1977 graduate of Jennings County High School and had been employed by Jennings County Schools as a cook at the high school for six years. Prior to that she worked as a bookkeeper at Pollert Design in Columbus for four years and also at Truck Stops of America in Seymour. She was a member of Scipio United Methodist Church, where she was a former treasurer and had led a Bible study and worked with youth. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, cooking and her church. Born March 14, 1959, in Coldwater, Mich., she was a daughter of Marvin Hall and Ronna Hall, both of whom survive. She married Robin Spurgeon on Aug. 12, 1975. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Steven Spurgeon and Brooks Spurgeon, both of North Vernon; one daughter, Kristy Copley, North Vernon; four grandsons, Karson Spurgeon, Nicholas Atwood, Izayah Atwood, Kieran Spurgeon, all of North Vernon; two granddaughters, Kenzi Copley and Shania Spurgeon, both of North Vernon; father-in-law, Harold Spurgeon; mother-in-law, Elise Spurgeon; three brothers, Kevin Hall, Seymour, Keith Hall and John Hall, both of Columbus; one sister, Shelly Anderson, Deland, Fla. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Jeannette Schaeffer and Walter and Hazel Hall. The Rev. Lonny Goen and Rev. Vickie Perkins will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Scipio. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Scipio United Methodist Church or Hospice of Jennings County.
