SPURLING - Little Miss Edna Spurling died Wednesday, March 8, 1899, of membranous croup. Little Edna was a bright winsome child, the pet of the family and of all who knew her. Her funeral was preached by Rev. D.T. Newsom, of Azalia, at Jaketown. The remains were laid to rest in the old Quaker grave yard. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their beloved daughter.
