Seymour Daily Tribune Samuel Theodore Stafford June 12, 2006 Samuel Theodore Stafford, 92, Seymour, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Stafford was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, and was a 47-year member of Seymour Christ Temple Church. After 13 years with Lucas & Ackerman he retired from doing finish carpentry work. Born July 29, 1913, in Jackson County, he was a son of Fletcher and Nancy Ann “Annie” Butler Stafford, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 27, 1943, in Brownstown, he married Ruth Emily Grantham. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Roger David (Nancy) Stafford, Deland, Fla., Carolyn Sue (Don) Stouder, Columbus, and Sharon Kay (Dennis) Allman, Seymour; seven grandchildren, David (Barbara) Coryea, Sherri Jo Rider, Jeanie Fulp, Janie Fellows, Dennis Wayne (Michelle) Allman II, Shanon Denise Allman; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elise Booth in 1942; a daughter, Wilma Carol Coryea; five brothers, Thedford “Ted”, Tilton Woodrow “Woody”, Thawis “Tom”, Cyrus “Cresson”, Fletcher Eugene “Gene” and three sisters, Ellen Cockerham, Mereda McCaffrey and Beatrice “Tacy” Davers. The Rev. Dennis Allman and the Rev. Larry Sims will conduct funeral services at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Seymour Christ Temple Church. Private family graveside service will be held Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
