Seymour Tribune - November 10, 2009 Leo Rex Stevens 1924 - 2009 Leo Rex Stevens, 85, Franklin, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Franklin United Methodist Community. Mr. Stevens served our country in the United States Merchant Marines during Word War II. He was a science teacher in Hope. Born Aug. 14, 1924, in Gold Beach, Ore., he was the son of William R. and Mary I. Murray Stevens, both of whom preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Billy Rex Stevens, James Stevens and Brian Stevens; three daughters, Rosey Chachere, RexAnn Boyd and Tresa Lancaster; one sister, Susie Meyer; 12 grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Vandivier Tudor Chapel, 951 N. Main St., Franklin. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
