Steven D. Steward, 49, Seymour, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. Steward was associated with Rockford United Methodist Church. He had worked for K.S. Lanam for several years. He loved his cats, Jackie and Blackie, and collected Seymour artifacts and enjoyed Jackson County history and woodworking.
Born March 1, 1957, in Seymour, he was a son of Robert J. Steward and Grace G. Dodds Steward. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Seymour. On Aug. 18, 1984, at Zion Lutheran Church, he married Kristen L. Geitz, who survives.
Other survivors include eight nephews, three nieces and a great-nephew, R. Daniel (Heather) Steward, Derek Smith, R. Dustin and Kylene Wyatt Steward, Robbie (Nikki) Smith, Kei and Lisa Yanagida, Megan, Jonathon, Samuel, Abigail and Luke Geitz; a brother, Richard (Maryellen) Steward; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Timothy (Susan) Geitz; a half sister, Norma Caples, Fla; and two sisters-in-law, Melanie Yanagida and Rebecca (Robert) Smith.
The Rev. Rosa Harris will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
