Seymour Tribune - April 30, 2007 Virginia Stidam Dec. 30, 1923 – April 29, 2007 Virginia Stidam, 83, Brownstown, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Stidam was of the Christian faith. She retired from the Brownstown School System after 20 years. Born Dec. 30, 1923, in Lawrence County, she was a daughter of Clifton Aynes and Myrtle Hovis Aynes, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 5, 1941, in Brownstown, she married Elmer “Tack” Stidam, who preceded her in death Dec. 8, 2000. Survivors include a son, Elmer L. “Butch” (Vickie) Stidam, Medora; a daughter, Mary Lou (Larry) Silence, Brownstown; a brother, Clifton E. Aynes, Crothersville; two sisters, Gladys Silence, Brownstown, and Mary Alice Topie, California; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Richard) Reynolds, Debra “Susie” (Tony) Lehr, and Clifton “Tim” (Carol” Silence, all of Brownstown, Melissa (Scott) Hogan, Norman, and Beverly (David) Brock, Medora; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Aynes and Perry Aynes. Wayne Edwards will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
