Seymour Daily Tribune April 9, 2002 Ervin Dale Stradley Ervin Dale “Dyke” Stradley, 74, Seymour, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Seymour. Mr. Stradley was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as vice-president of L.P. Cavett Co. and also was on the board of directors of the Indiana Asphalt Pavement Association. He belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Elks. Born May 23, 1927, in Jackson County, he was the son of Walter W. Stradley and Gertrude P. Nolte Stradley. On April 18, 1948, in Seymour, he married Carolyn J. Lucas and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Stan W. (Teresa) Stradley, Seymour, and Steve (Mary) Stradley, Greensburg; four grandchildren, Kelly (J.B.) Royer and Keith Stradley, both of Seymour, and Katy Stradley and Paige Stradley, both of Greensburg; and two sisters, Evelyn Shade, Seymour, and Virginia Milam, Florida. The Rev. Rosa Harris and the Rev. Marsha Rodenberger will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7 will conduct full military graveside services. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Hospice or Rockford Methodist Church Building Fund.
