I am still interested in Stuckwisch ancestors especially those who moved to Vigo County/Terre Haute IN. I don't know which ones you are interested in exactly but I have a couple of tidbits. Jackson County Banner Thursday, Feb. 28, 1878 Page 5 Fat, hale, hearty and clever John F. Stuckwisch of Brownstown township planked down the spondulicks, and he was very promptly mustered into the Banner Legion for one year. Jackson County Banner Thursday, May 30, 1878 Page 5 Death of an Aged Man John F. Stuckwisch departed this life on the 20th day of May, 1878, in Driftwood township, aged 81 years, 9 months and 21 days. He was born in Hanover, Germany. He was a drummer boy at the famous battle of Waterloo, where he received a saber cut on his head. He emigrated to America in 1839, and settled permanently in Jackson County, Indiana, where he resided ever since. He was an hones, exemplary, industrious man, and greatly esteemed by all who knew him.
