Seymour Daily Tribune March 26, 2002 David Leroy Suhre David Leroy Suhre, 71, North Vernon, died at 3:24 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2002, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, North Vernon. Mr. Suhre attended Zenas Elementary School. He retired after 35 years from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center as a meatcutter. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening and was an avid basketball fan. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. Born April 15, 1930, in Jennings County, he was a son of Raymond L. Suhre and Virginia Yeager Suhre. On April 27, 1947, in Jennings County, he married Clara Byard, who survives in North Vernon. Other survivors include two daughters, Donna Kreutzjans, North Vernon, and Margaret Large, Springfield, Ohio; two sons, John E. Suhre and William “Bill” Suhre, both of North Vernon; a sister, Edith Commons, Merrillville; a brother, Raymond “Ray” Suhre, North Vernon; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben Suhre and Fred Suhre. Connie Barr will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Flatrock Cemetery in Ripley County. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to New Bethel United Methodist Church.
