Seymour Daily Tribune May 20, 2002 Opal Sutherland Opal Sutherland, 90, Seymour, died at midnight today, Monday, May 20, 2002, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mrs. Sutherland had worked at Gerwin and U.S. Shoe Factory. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Seymour, and also was a Sunday school teacher. She lived her entire life in Jackson and Ripley counties. Born Oct. 3, 1911, she was a daugther of Henry J. Moritz and Henrietta E. Reedy Moritz, who both preceded her in death. On March 21, 1930, she married Holmes Hunsucker and he died Dec. 23, 1935. On May 31, 1941, she married Howard J. Sutherland and he died Nov. 30, 1972. She is survived by four sons, Lynn (Joy) Sutherland, Jerry (Rhonda) Sutherland and Vincent Hunsucker, all of Seymour, and Charles Hunsucker, North Vernon; a daughter, Delores Wienhorst, Seymour; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded by two sons, Ronald Hunsucker and Richard Sutherland; a brother, Frank Mortiz; and two sisters, Gaynelle Mortiz and Emma L. Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. unti time of sevices Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First Church of the Nazarene Church Missions.
