Seymour Daily Tribune - May 11, 2006 Francis Harvey Sweany Sr. Oct. 24, 1934 – May 9, 2006 Francis Harvey Sweany Sr., 71, Crothersville, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Sweany was a retired supervisor for Pyramid Paper Products. He was a member of Reddington Christian Church and served in the National Guard for two years. Born Oct. 24, 1934, in Jennings County, he was a son of Francis Mearl “Mud” and Mattie Jane Parker Sweany, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 31, 1955, in Seymour, he married Esther N. Caplinger, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 31, 2003, in Bedford, Kentucky, he married Daisy June Palmer, who survives at Crothersville. Other survivors include four children, Mona Arnold, Francis H. Sweany Jr., Pearl Goen and Lisa Kirschbaum; two stepchildren; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mabel Shake, Florence Littell, Margery Adams, Mary Luenebrink and Dorothy Williams. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson and an infant brother. The Rev. Scott Brown will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association, Reddington Christian Church or donor’s choice.
