Seymour Tribune Lois M. (Reynolds) Tanner 1915 - 2008 Lois M. Tanner, 93, Commiskey, passed away at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at St. Vincent's Hospice in Indianapolis. Mrs. Tanner worked as a private duty nurse retiring in 1974 and moving from Indianapolis to Jennings County in 1979. She attended First Marion Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her gardens, raising chickens and spending time with her family. Born May 6, 1915, in Beech Creek, Ky., she was the daughter of Samuel and Chloe Dean English Reynolds. She married John Tanner in Indianapolis in December 1939. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1988. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Marsha Anne (Ted) Marshall, Indianapolis; a son and his wife, Joseph Kelly (Janice) Tanner, Commiskey; four grandchildren, Mathew Tanner, and Elizabeth (Paul) Durand, both of Orlando, Fla.; William Todd (Michelle) DeMicheli, Indianapolis, and Laura (Scott) Benko, Martinsville; and five great grandchildren, Amabell Tanner, Abigail and Sam DeMicheli, and Aaron and Sarah Benko. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Ruth Tanner; four sisters, Floy Mecurio, Hortelle Melloy, Alice Mae Reynolds and Thelma Reynolds and six brothers, Gordon Reynolds, Forrest Reynolds, Samuel Reynolds, D.B. "Rocky" Reynolds, Durwood Reynolds and Lowell Reynolds. The Rev. Michael Cantrell will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at First Marion Baptist Church. Burial will take place at First Marion Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday, at the church.
