Seymour Daily Tribune March 25, 2002 George W. Teipen George W. “Bill” Teipen, 71, Seymour, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. Mr. Teipen was a lifelong farmer and was self-employed on his own farm, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Lake Wales Lutheran Church in Lakes Wales, Fla.; charter member of Grassy Fork Fire Department; and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Born Feb. 22, 1931, at Indianapolis, he was a son of Tony Teipen Sr. and Pollie Waskom Teipen. On May 12, 1950, at Uniontown, he married Marilyn E. VanHuss, who survives in Seymour. Other survivors include two sons, Phillip A. Teipen (wife Janice), Seymour, and Eric W. Teipen, Seymour; a daughter, Cheryl R. Darlage, Seymour; five grandchildren, Scott Teipen (wife Stephanie), Sharon Teipen, Chris Darlage, Liz Darlage and Braden Teipen; and two brothers, Tony Teipen Jr., Seymour, and Richard Teipen (wife Conita), Seymour. The Rev. Fred Mildenburger will conduct services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Dudleytown. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lake Wales Lutheran Church or Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown.
