Seymour Daily Tribune February 15, 2002 Nondas Imogene Temple Nondas Imogene “Nonnie” Shake Temple, 81, Bloomington, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Indiana University Hospital. Mrs. Temple was a graduate of Bedford High School and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She was a homemaker and civic volunteer. She had been a member of Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa philanthropic sorority, Bloomington Country Club, Monroe County Library Board, Indiana University Alumni Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Monroe County YMCA, Nashville United Methodist Church and the Golf Club of Brown County. She had volunteered as a Pink Lady at Bloomington Hospital and assisted with American Red Cross Blood Bank drives. After contracting throat cancer, she counseled other cancer patients in group settings and person-to-person. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Brown County Democrat newspaper in Nashville and served as director and officer on the newspaper’s corporate board. She also worked in sales at Nashville shops. Born March 6, 1920, in Odon, she was a daughter of the Rev. Edwin Fletcher and Florence Dee Davis Shake. She married Bruce Barnard Temple, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Gregory Temple and Dawn Snider, Nashville; a sister, Charlotte Mozelle Shake DeLong, Indianapolis; a grandson, Caleb Lister Temple, Arlington, Va.; a granddaughter, Anastasia Temple Otto, Alexandria, Va.; a niece; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Davis Shake, and a sister, Marjorie Luciene Shake Douglas. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private memorial celebration is planned. Memorials may be given to the Monroe County YMCA or donor’s choice. Day Mortuary in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
