Sarah Evelyn (Trembly) Thayer
1914 - 2009 
Sarah Evelyn Thayer, 94, Hope, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, in Pensacola, Fla.
Mrs. Thayer was an active?member of Hope United Methodist Church, a member of United Methodist Women, Hope Lions Club and Friendly Neighbors Home Extension Club. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, cooking, reading and entertaining.
Born in Hope, on Oct 23, 1914, she was the daughter of Ray and Hazel McCall Trembly, both of whom preceded her in death. She married the Rev.?Orrin Dodd Thayer on Sept. 8, 1935, and he preceded her in death. She and her husband served churches in Gilford, Vallonia, Evansville, Orleans, Indianapolis, Liberty and Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include children, Martha Jane Moores, Richard F. (Mary Lou) Thayer, Mary Beth (Larry) Covert and Mark O. (Lee) Thayer; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Trembly and Dorothy Kenyon.
The Rev. Marianne Hawkins will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hope United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
