Seymour Daily Tribune January 21, 2002 Gertrude Emma Peters Thomas Gertrude Emma Peters Thomas, 82, Brownstown, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Windsor Manor Health Care in Greenwood. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, and was a resident of the Shields House, Seymour. Born Feb. 19, 1919, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Clarence and Louise Borcher Peters. On June 7, 1942, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Clifford F. Thomas, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Phyllis) Bowman, Indianapolis; a son, Dr. Michael (Vicki) Thomas, Hanover; a granddaughter, Tracy Bowman; two grandsons, Bryan Bowman and Gregory Thomas; a brother, Ralph Peters, Brownstown and a sister, Lillian Eggeman, Seymour. She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Peters and two sisters, Ina Peters and Edith Lambring. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
