Mrs. Jewell H. (Allen) Toppe
1918 - 2009 
Jewell H. Toppe, 91, Crothersville, passed away at 1:46 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. She had resided there since Sept. 12, 2002.
She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Austin, where she served in the Ladies Aid, the Crothersville Home Ec Club Happy Apronettes and Crothersville Senior Citizens. Mrs. Toppe was a 1935 Crothersville High School graduate. She enjoyed cooking, reading, taking short trips and spending time with her family.
Born May 6, 1918, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Harry and Elva Rider Allen, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 8, 1938, in Dudleytown, she married Earl E. Toppe, who preceded her in death June 6, 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen June (Scott) Jackson, Crothersville; three sons, Sherrill Allen (Marcia) Toppe, Little York, Mark Eddy (Chata) Toppe, Seymour, and Daniel Earl (Nancy) Toppe, Crothersville; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly (Richard) Simmons, Gina (Brian) Personett, Nathan Jackson, Shawn (Jennifer) Toppe, Heather Toppe, Brandi Dawson, Jared Toppe, Holly (Kyle) Coates, Zachery Toppe, Dustin (Hillary) Toppe and Amber (Jason) Naylor; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Scott Kozisek will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville. Burial will take place at Crothersville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
