Seymour Tribune Dorothy Ann Tormoehlen 1935 - 2009 Dorothy Ann Tormoehlen, 74, of Columbus and formerly of Seymour, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born May 23, 1935, the daughter of Edward Louis and Anna Christina Spray Tormoehlen. Dorothy was a 1953 graduate of Shields High School. She was employed at Cummins Engine Co. for more than 37 years, as an executive secretary, and retired in 1990. Miss Tormoehlen was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus. Dorothy loved sending birthday cards to all her friends and family. On most of these occasions, she would make the cards herself. She was very active on the computer and stayed in touch with family and friends all over the United States. She often chaired her high school class reunions and stayed close to many of her former classmates. Dorothy is survived by three sisters, Elsie Bruning, Columbus, and Bernice Kasting and Irma (Robert) Demske, both of Seymour. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Leonard, Leo, Edward, Arthur and Richard Tormoehlen; and four sisters, Evelyn Wilde, Gladys Dorman, Esther Jaynes and Alberta Lane. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
