Seymour Daily Tribune April 2, 2002 Edward Trimpe Edward “Jim” Trimpe, 80, Seymour, died at 9 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Seymour. He had been in failing health since November. Mr. Trimpe was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville, and a past church board member. He was a truck driver with Courier-Newsom and was a member of Teamsters Local 135. He loved logging and gardening. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the medics in the India-Burma campaign; he was a technical sergeant, and received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. Born Dec. 27, 1921 in Waymansville, he was a son of Everett Trimpe and Lydia Vogt Trimpe. On June 29, 1946, at the Immanuel Parsonage, Seymour, he married Doris Jean Kaspertain Trimpe and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Barbara Trimpe Minor, Columbus; a son-in-law, Raymond N. Minor, Columbus; two brothers, Elmer “Charlie” Trimpe and Earl “Bob” Trimpe, both of Bartholomew County; and a sister, Loretta (Chuck) Wessel, Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar “Bill” Trimpe and Ernest Trimpe; and two sisters, LaVern Schafstall and Lorna Barker. The Rev. Wayne K. Frost will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Waymansville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
