Seymour Daily Tribune James William Tungeitt August 4, 2006 James William Tungeitt, 86, Seymour, died at 11:28 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Tungeitt worked at Arvin Industries in Seymour for 30 years and also at Seymour Housewares for 10 years in the maintenance department. He retired in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he held various offices. He was a member of Lutheran Layman's League. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Dudleytown Conservation Club. He was also a proud member of the V.F.W. #1925. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force. Born June 26, 1920, in Jennings County, he was a son of Irvin and Josephine (Ross) Tungeitt, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 10, 1948, he married Anna Ahlbrand, who preceded him death on Jan. 8, 2004. Survivors include a daughter; Barbara (Jeff) Jordan, Seymour; a granddaughter; Elizabeth "Betsy" Jordan, Seymour; a brother; Floyd Tungeitt, North Vernon and one sister; Alberta Brown, Montgomery, Ill. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and Charles Tungeitt, and four sisters, Helen Lawver, Ruth Sorrell, Ruby Buschele and Mary King. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and the Rev. Philip Bloch will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion #89, V.F.W. #1925, D.A.V. #47 and Vietnam Veterans #7, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran High School or to the donor's choice.
