Seymour Daily Tribune March 16, 2002 William E. Voelz William E. Voelz, 64, Columbus, died at 10:32 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Voelz was retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 29 years. He was a member of Sardinia Baptist Church,; High Point Lodge 755, Free and Accepted Masons; North Vernon Eastern Star 183; Murat Temple of Indianapolis; Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite; Moose Lodge of Columbus; and Cummins Creak Club. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1955. Born Oct. 8, 1937, in Columbus, he was the son of C. Ed Voelz and Clarabelle White Voelz. On June 17, 1970, in Taylorsville, he married Patricia L. Lewis, who survives in Columbus. Other survivors include five sons, Jeff Voelz, Bill Voelz, Tony Voelz and Wade Hooten, all of Columbus, and Ray Hooten, Franklin; two daughters, Cathryn L. Boilanger, Columbus, and Betty E. Green, Franklin; a sister, Patricia Sandlin, Light House Point, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son. The Rev. Marvin Arnett will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bass and Gasper Funeral Home, Westport. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. and Eastern Star services to follow. Memorials may be given to the New Hospice Building Fund or Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.
