Seymour Tribune Marilyn Kay (Kerkhof) Von Fange 1951 - 2008 Marilyn Kay Von Fange, 57, Seymour, passed away at 11:02 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. Von Fange was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was most recently employed as an instructional assistant at Seymour High School. She had held various accounting positions in both Bartholomew and Jackson counties and was an administrative assistant in the trust department at National City Bank. Marilyn loved to tutor algebra and geometry concepts in order to equip students to be at their best in meeting a higher level of academic achievement. She enjoyed relaxing at her pond with friends and family, where she would sit, swing, swim, ice skate, make crafts, sew, quilt and work in her flower garden. She was treasurer for Trinity United Methodist Women, a member of the Small Town Quilters Quilt Club, a member of the Patch and Bake Home Economics Club, and the Bartholomew County Landowners Association. Most of all she loved the time she spent walking with her husband, daughter and son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Born in Columbus, on June 11, 1951, she was the daughter of Floyd and Selma E. Speaker Kerkhof, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 12, 1970, in White Creek United Methodist Church, she married James R. Von Fange, who survives. Other survivors include her children, Timothy (Lindsey Voelker) Von Fange and Christina (Greg) Hottell; grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas and Katelyn Hottell; and brothers, Lloyd (Rita)?Kerkhof and Norman (Karen) Kerkhof. The Rev. Mike Seaney will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss Dove Tribute following. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
