Seymour Daily Tribune January 17, 2002 Gilbert Warner Gilbert Warner, 91, Austin, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Abbott’s Extended Living, Scottsburg. Mr. Warner was retired as owner of the former Warner’s IGA in Austin. He was a member of the Spurgeon Cemetery Board and was a former Austin Town Board member. He was a former Austin Lions Club member, Austin Senior Euchre Group member and former Austin Security member. He was a member and elder at Austin Christian Church and served as treasurer. He was a member of Austin Christian Church Quartet. Born April 7, 1910, in Jennings County, he was the son of Clyde D. Warner and Dora Smith Warner. He married Margaret Hubbard Warner, who preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Myron D. Warner, Austin; a daughter, Sharon Begley, Crothersville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Clark and Vera Lichlyter, both of Madison. The Rev. Jay Stephens will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Austin Christian Church. Burial will be in Spurgeon Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to Austin Christian Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
