The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Wednesday, August 29, 1906 Page 3 James H. Weekly was born in Belmont, Ohio. Dec. 23, 1832, and died at Spraytown Saturday, Aug. 25, 1906. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Weekly and was the last of ten children. He united with the Methodist church about 40 years ago and was a faithful christian until his death. In 1856 he was married to Nancy J. McKane, who died several years ago. To them were born five daughters and one son, viz. Mrs. James Judd, Mrs. Nelson Harris and J. A. Weekly, of Spraytown, Mrs. Martha Bottorff, near Cortland, and Mrs. James Mize, of Vincennes. One daughter died when quite young. Besides his children he is survived by 19 grand-children and one great grand-child. He was a loving father, a kind neighbor and a good citizen. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the M. F. church at Spraytown conducted by Rev. Smith, of Freetown, and were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Burial at White's Chapel cemetery. ~Transcibed by: Alexandria Sandlin.
